First in your hotel you will meet up with your guide and listen to some recommendations before going out. To introduce this tour of Leon, you will start with “ the Mercy’s Church” home to the city’s patron saint and one of the most important architectonic sites in the city. After that you will visit the Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary on the central plaza, this is the largest cathedral in Central America which got the classic UNESCO world heritage award. As the tour continues you will visit the Myths and Legends Museum and the central market where you will observe tropical fruits, typical sweets and much more.

Leon was several times the country capital city after the Nicaragua’s independence from Spain. It played a crucial role in the uprising against the regime of the Somoza dictatorship, the movement emerged mostly from students. Today you will discover some of the important facts painted on murals as you walk down the streets. Finally, on the way back to the hotel you’ll stop by to enjoy a typical fruit juice while saying goodbye to your guide.
