After just 20 minutes by car we start this adventure from Las Peñitas community where we can take the kayaks (for one or two people) and the life jackets. After some instructions we’ll be kayaking into the beautiful river (channel) which separates Juan Venado Natural Reserve from mainland. After the first 100 meters we will be surrounded by a mangrove forest having the privilege of spotting several types of local and migratory birds, crabs, as well as local people in their daily activities. we will paddle for around 4 kilometers and then we’ll take a short walk toward an unspoiled beach in the Pacific Ocean. Then, we will return to our kayaks, and paddle back to Las Peñitas.

Finally, on the way back to León we will make a final stop at the Peña del Tigre lookout with a nice view over a couple of beautiful beaches, Las Peñitas and Poneloya. This tour can be run any day of the week either at 06:30a.m or at 02:30p.m
